In the 21st century, the number, scale and complexity of national and international events taking place has increased enormously. These events are organised by businesses to promote and market products or to reward and motivate staff. Until recently, the area of events management has been seen as part of the hospitality and tourism industries. However, with the increasing scale of the events business, and the diversity and range of the dimensions of events operations, the industry has required an increasingly professional approach.

Careers:
Students graduating with a degree in Events Management will have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to seek management trainee, junior management or supervisory positions in a full range of events organisations. In addition, graduates can enter careers in events research/ management with national, local authority or voluntary organisations.
